A bright city kitchen for a family of four, with sage-green Shaker cabinetry, brass pulls and a speckled island that doubles as the homework desk.
The brief
Emma and Luis wanted a kitchen with personality: bright enough to wake up in, with room for two kids doing homework while dinner happens around them. Their old layout wasted a whole corner and left nowhere to sit.
The design
We reworked the room into an L-shape with a generous island facing the window. Sage-green Shaker doors run up to the ceiling, and the island is topped in a speckled quartz that hides crumbs and shrugs off school projects. A patterned tile floor marks out the cooking zone, so the wood floor stays clear of splashes.
The build
Every cabinet was made to measure in our workshop and hand-painted in a custom-mixed sage. On site, our team fitted the kitchen, the tiled floor and new lighting, including the pendant over the island, in three weeks.
We wanted a kitchen with personality, and that's exactly what we got. The kids do their homework at the island while I cook, and after a year of real family life it still looks brand new.
