A calm, handleless kitchen in soft greige, with a stone island, an integrated sink and a stone-lined niche for everyday cooking.
The brief
A loft conversion with tall windows and beautiful light, and an owner who wanted the kitchen to almost disappear into the architecture. Nothing on show and nothing to clean around.
The design
We designed a run of full-height, handleless cabinets that hides the fridge, pantry and coffee station, and set the cooktop into a stone-lined niche with a single floating shelf. The island is wrapped in a limestone-effect porcelain, with the sink formed from the same material so there are no seams to catch dirt.
The build
Handleless kitchens depend on perfectly even gaps, so every door was hung and adjusted in our workshop before delivery. On site, we scribed the tall units to the ceiling for a flush, built-in finish and completed the installation in two weeks.
I asked for a kitchen that disappears, and they built one that is calm, clever and completely clutter-free. Every door closes with the same perfect gap. It's a detail I notice every single day.
